TEMECULA – Fatima Butler may not be an expert at much at the tender age of 12, but she proved she knows what connoisseur means and how to spell it. Butler, a 7th grader at Gardner Middle School, won the Temecula Valley Unified School District Spelling Bee on January 26 by correctly spelling “connoisseur.” She will represent the District at the Riverside County Office of Education spelling bee competition later this year. Butler beat out more than two dozen other contenders from TVUSD’s 14 elementary schools, 6 middle schools and Temecula Valley Charter School for the Spelling Bee Champ title.
