Temecula Valley Unified School District is accepting nominations for the Gifted and Talented Education Program. Parents interested in the program should contact their child’s teacher. Nominations will be accepted through May 31, 2005.
The criteria for program participation includes: 1) parent evaluation; 2) classroom functional and performance level; 3) creative and critical thinking skills; and 4) high scores (97th percentile or above), on cognitive and standardized achievement tests specifically the Raven Progressive Matrices. Testing with the Raven Progressive Matrices will take place during the spring and early summer. STAR testing will take place during the spring with results becoming available in late summer. All applicants will be notified by mail after STAR parent reports have been mailed home.
